Hi! My name is Amelyn, and welcome to my blog: Openly Geek. I hope you will enjoy your stay. End of line.
- Kitten update! Today, I took Mabel to the vet, to check on her mouth infection and her leg. The mouth infection is gone, but her keg as yet ti be fully healed. At first, the vet wanted to put her leg in a splint for another two weeks but, upon examining Mabel’s leg, she noticed wounds on her leg, due to being covered for a long time. Instead, we chose to do x-rays, to see if her leg was healed enough to forego another splint. Good news: Her leg is almost healed, so no need for a splint. Bad news: Her leg muscles are very atrophied to the point that Mabel couldn’t bend her knee. The vet says that Mabel should be able to bend her knee over time. She also told me that her leg will always be a bit crooked, for the rest of her life, but she’ll be able to walk without problem. Also, to avoid complications, Mabel must stay in her cage for another two weeks, in “preventing rest” to put it. Otherwise, everything’s fine and I’ll only need to see the vet when the time will come for Mabel to be spayed. Anyway, I can say that Mabel is quite glad to have both the splint and collar removed. She’s been cleaning herself for quite some time. It was suggested that I perform some small physiotherapy on Mabel, to help her regain mobility of her leg. For the moment, it is very sore and Mabel has been complaining a few times, when she tried to stand on it. I hope that she’ll be fine from now on. #petsofinstagram #catsofinstagram #kitten
